looking for great photography.
If you take a photography workshop with me and want to see the sites if you
have the time then I will be your guide for the best areas to take pictures as well as some interesting places for
food and fun.
Compared to Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie, Vero Beach. Florida is pretty upscale. Vero Beach
is a nice comfortable beach side community.

year but check the web site for future events. McKee is a good place to take background pictures,
or if you have a model and McKee doesn't have many visitors(usually during the week, near closing time.) try
to sneak in a model(no bikini or nude photos - please). Winner 2014 Treasure Coast Reader's

Royal PP Park
Royal Palm Pointe is a little penisula that juts off of the mainland part of Vero Beach and ends in the
Indian river where the park is located. Consists of a lot of high end business and a local bar that is worth a
visit if you are in the area and thirsty. The main thing to know is if someone puts a 'e' on a name you know they
are going charge you more money.
Nice family resort and good place to take some pictures. Expect to spend some money. I ordered a bottle of Mic
Ulta in their small upstairs bar and paid $7.23. That was the only bar open after 5pm. I guess this isn't one of
those Disney resorts they show on their commercials where the adults ditch the kidees and party at some disco
presumeable after 5pm. If you plan to visit you need either a GPS system or a detailed local map. If you are
traveling from Vero Beach, you could easily pass the place, especially if you are looking ahead to the street light
on state highway 510. Favorite 2014 Treasure Coast Reader's Choice Award Indian River

The Sebastian Inlet State Park as you may have guessed is closer to Sebastian than it is to Vero. The city of
Melbourne is located much further north of Sebastian and why the name is on the address is a mystery to me. It is
located off of A1A and about a 10-minute drive north of the Disney Resort(Yes I drove past the Disney Resort and
saw some picture taking opportunities.). The park features a beach and an inlet that leads to the ocean. Add in a
hugh Pelican and you have a chance for some decent pictures.
Hemingway's choice(s) for good times and good food after sunset. Good times as defined as great
bars and restaurants.
The Vero Beach city counsel recently(May/2014) passed a one year test bill to move the bars
closing time back one hour to 2am. I would guess that some of the nite clubs/bars listed below gearing up for

782 S. US Hwy 1
The offical name is 'Beef O Brady's but all the employees just call it
'Beef's'. Beef's is bascially a family sports bar with over 30 TV's. The serving and bar
staff are both attractive and engaging. Currently one of my favorite places in Vero. Food is decent.
John the manager does many things to get the customers to come back. During football season you can pick
teams in various ways and if you are good and lucky enough you may get a gift certificate during or at the
end of the season. No charge to play. Beef's is in the same shopping strip as Blue 42 and
several of their female employees like to hang out at Blue 42 after Beef's
Formerly JR's and YNot. They also feature a Tiki type bar for smokers and plenty of
TV's. Except for the restaurant, this is a place for young people in their 20's to 40's. If you are a
young photographer, Saturday night is the time to visit. I visited the place on a quiet Sunday. I ordered a
cheesburger and to my surpise it was hand crafted and not overcooked. Two weeks later I ordered a
cheeseburger and it was grossly overcooked.
Why someone would want to name a bar Filthy's and expect people to visit the place is beyond my
comprehension. The place used to be called 'Filthy's McNasty's', and I visited the place two or three years ago.
Let's just say that the place lived up to its name. Recently(May 2014) I revisted the place and was please to see
that someone(new owner?) spent a lot of money renovating the place, even the bathroom looked pretty good. Looks
like they are trying to be a night club. Nice size stage with built in stage lighting/speakers.
Update: They got rid of the stage and put in a small bar. Pretty lively place especially after
10pm when they give their drink specials. On Sunday, they have Bloody Mary specials where you can order up to
a pictures worth of them with over 40 things to mix in your blood mary's including White Castle cheeseburgers and
meatball(no kidding, they put them on a wooden stick)
If you are in Vero Beach and want to photograph some great sunsets, then head to the
Riverside Cafe or next to the cafe and under the north Vero bridge at twilight. This place has the second best
sunset after 'On the Edge' on the Treasure Coast. Afterwards, party at the best fun bar in the area: good food and
some of the finest entertainment that you have never heard of. Beers are a little pricey, but it's a lively
place on Friday and Saturday nights. My favorite sandwich is their Reuben sandwich, plenty of Corn Beef and the
french fries are decent. Best night for younger photographers is Friday, which features a DJ and plenty of
young hotties. For us, older photographer's Saturday features a band and more mature females. In any case Riverside
Cafe is known as a 'Meat Place'.
Waldo's, 3150 Ocean Drive,
Vero Beach, Fl 32963 772 231-7521
Small restaurant and more importanly a small bar. However the bar overlooks a pool and there is a
small boardwalk to view the Atlantic ocean. Music is played on Friday and other selected nights. Waldo's
is located inside the historic Driftwood Inn and is a major spot to visit during your visit to
Vero beach. Favorite 2014 Treasure Coast Reader's Choice Award

Hotel and resort complex. Includes cuban inspired restaurant and bar. They also have an outside bar
that ovelooks the ocean. I'm told they have entertainment on the weekends. Located right next to the Driftwood
Inn. Gloria & Emilio

Kelley's Irish Pub is the closest look of an Irish Pub that you can find on the
Treasure Coast. The place is small but has plenty of Irish atmosphere and customers. My favorite is the Reuben
sandwich which is cheaper than Riverside's Reuben. It's not fancy, but it all comes together pretty good.
|| Bonefish Grill 2075 Indian River Blvd, Vero Beach, Fl 32960, 772
Good size franchise restaurant. Prices not overly expensive, decor elegant. I had pork chops
with potatoes au-gratin, and that was the best pork chop meal that I ever tasted. Need to get to this restaurant
before 5:30pm because it is packed after that time.
With my camera in hand I have traveled to many
places in the area and hopefully you can see that Vero Beach offers some interesting picture taking opportunities
for the photographer to take some interesting photographs and enjoy the laid back atmosphere of this part of the
